TV sets get more "a-peel"

As TV manufacturers introduce more advanced technology inside their TVs, so the outside must appear distinctive and technically advanced. Styles are becoming bolder as designers demand high gloss, chrome effects, and sometimes 2-colour possibilities. These new effects can give headaches to both the paint applicator and the formulator.

One way in which BIC has helped designers to develop more distinctive styling without the associated production problems is by providing a spray-on, peelable coating, "BeckquaMask".

The balance between elasticity and adhesion of the coating can be selectively varied for application to specific substrates. The waterborne coating has been designed to have minimal adhesion to most plastic substrates, yet provides a tough barrier that will resist the effects of overspray and scratching. BeckquaMask can be used as a specific mask in 2-colour work, or as a spray-on film to protect glossy smooth substrates.

The mask is designed to stay on during spraying and even through the construction process, only being removed as the TV is ready to be boxed.
